iPod saves life

An incredible story for an US soldier based in Iraq, saved by his iPod weared on the left side of his jacket:

Kevin Garrad (3rd Infantry Division) was on a street patrol in Iraq and as he rounded the corner of a building an armed (AK-47) insurgent came from the other side.

The two of them were within just a few feet of each other when they opened fire. The insurgent was killed and Kevin was hit in the left chest where his IPod was in his jacket pocket. It slowed the bullet down enough that it did not completely penetrate his body armor. Fortunately, Kevin suffered no wound.

Dieu sait que je ne suis pas fan des iPod, ni de la politique d’Apple, de la nouvelle gueule des Nano, et encore moins des bonnes causes, mais je dois avouer que ce nouvel iPod rouge est très sexy.

Si vous êtes sensible à ce genre de choses, sachez que dix pour cent du prix de vente de ce lecteur multimédia seront reversé à la lutte contre le Sida.

Personnellement, ça ne me fait ni chaud ni froid, je préfèrerais manger des piles LR14 plutôt que de faire comme tout le monde et d’utiliser un iPod.

A part sa couleur, cet iPod est identique aux autres modèles de la gamme. $ 199.

Apple released a new limited-edition of its new Nano iPodMini-like, and this time, no more crappy colours, this iPod is red, and damn sexy. I’m applophobe, so I don’t care if there is a catch with this edition, since you give $ 10 (on $ 199) to a good cause - I will never buy an iPod - I would rather eat a bunch of D-Cell forgotten in a Maglite 4D for ten years than being caught with this hyped-multimedia-player.
But I like the design.

Il ne lui manque que la radio pour exploser le Sony équivalent. J’aurais préféré une meilleure intégration de l’iPod, qui tranche un peu avec le style de la bestiole, mais ça passe.
Il est disponible en trois couleurs brillantes, le vert d’eau, le blanc et le noir. Pour les modèles vert d’eau, un set d’autocollant de la même couleur est livré pour assortir l’iPod.

Compatible avec les iPod de 4°/5° génération, Mini et Nano. Le Shuffle se branche via la prise auxilliaire.
