This all new Victorinox (announced for spring 2007) is a very interresting proposition of a first response unit tool/knife. Derived from the
Trekker, it got the high-visibility Stayglow handles (fluorescent yellow on daylight, and glowing in the dark) and several accessories made for rescuers, like a windshield saw, a belt cutter or a window puncher. It’s not my ideal SAK (it still lacks a belt clip, for exemple), but this is very promising, and not only for firefighters or rescuers.
I’m not a fan of the philips screwdriver, since it’s habitually redundant with the one mounted on the can-opener (replaced on the Rescue Tool by the windonw breaker bit), but this time, this is no more a trouble, since the corkscrew isn’t a priority in EMT situation. Next time I hope that Stayglow handles will be available for all 110 mm Victorinox.
Le Victorinox Rescue Tool est une toute nouvelle proposition de Victorinox pour les sauveteurs et les pompiers.
